Treatments

Snheapana Therapy
An ancient Hindu medical practice, originating in India, that The use of medicated oils, either internally or externally, is called Snehan (oleation). Snehan refers to the administration of medicated fats or the massage of oil over the skin for a specific period. A number of methods of Snehan therapy have been described in the Ayurvedic texts. The use of oleation results in unctuousness and softness of morbid doshas, which become easily extractable and ready to move from places where their occupation is undesirable and unwarranted.

Shirodhara
Shirodhara comes from the two Sanskrit words β€œshiro” (head) and β€œdhara” (flow). It’s an Ayurvedic healing technique that involves having someone pour liquid β€” usually oil, milk, buttermilk, or water β€” onto your forehead. It’s often combined with a body, scalp, or head massage.
Ayurveda is a holistic health approach that originated in India thousands of years ago. It focuses on rebalancing the life forces, called doshas, within your body.

Kavala Gandusha
Holding ayurvedic coconut oil in the mouth is called Gandusha. Holding liquid and gargling is called Kavala.
Gandoosha and KavalaGraha are two primary and effective oral cleansing techniques and specialized therapy to treat as well as to prevent oral diseases.

Greeva Vasti
The Greeva Vasti means a treatment in which medicated oils are poured and pooled for a fixed duration of time in a compartment or a cabin constructed over the neck or nape of the neck (back side of the neck) area using wet flour of black gram, covering the cervical region (nape of the neck / over the neck bones).Griva Vasti is pain relieving oil-pooling treatment conducted for neck pain caused due to many causes. Vasti or Basti is a term used to describe the urinary bladder in Ayurveda. Urinary bladder is a bag which holds urine for a certain amount of period till it is voided.

Janu Vasti
Janu Vasti is a treatment in Ayurveda that involves holding warm herbal oil or medicated ghee on the knee joint for a certain period of time. It is used to relieve pain and stiffness in the knee joint, especially in conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and knee joint injuries. The treatment begins with a gentle massage of the knee joint with warm herbal oil to loosen the muscles and tissues around it. Then, a small well made of dough is created around the knee joint, and warm herbal oil or medicated ghee is poured into it. The oil is kept in the well for about 30 to 45 minutes, and the patient is asked to relax during this time.

Kashya Dhara
Kashaya Dhara is an Ayurvedic decoction bath, where a constant rhythmic stream of herbalised liquid is poured and massaged over the body. A relaxing treatment, it is used to support weight loss or detoxification programs. This treatment begins by massaging warm herbalised oils into the body to prepare for the Kashaya Dhara treatment. In Sanskrit β€œKashaya” means decoction, and β€œDhara” means continuous flow.During Kashaya Dhara, the decoction is continuously poured over the body while maintaining a specific rhythm, height and temperature. The decoction is simultaneously massaged into the body throughout the treatment. When applied over the body, it may be over a specific area or the entire body. The decoction is chosen according to your health condition.

Kati Vasti
Kati vasti treatment in Ayurveda's take on helping individuals dealing with lower back pain and other related concerns. By definition, kati vasti is a lower back or lumbosacral therapy performed using heat and oil. The purpose is also to help bring vata dosha levels to optimum. The thick dough is prepared using the black gram paste. The shape of the dough mould could be either circular, oval or rectangular as per the back area where the patient is having pain.

Once the patient lies down on the stomach, the dough is placed as a rim around the back.
The edges of the ring of dough are fixed to the back using water that protects it from slipping off. This is like creating a reservoir on the back to store oil.

Ksheerdhara
The Ksheeradhara treatment includes a constant flow of herbal milk over the head and body, instead of the regular oil concoction in other Ayurvedic treatments. It is quite similar to Shirodhara, but Ksheeradhara has a cooling effect on the body and is recommended during the summer months or in circumstances that require relaxing or cooling effects.

Mukha Lepa

ncient Indian practice of yoga is a combination of exercises and meditation techniques, that integrates the mind and the body. Yoga has, for centuries, helped its disciples to improve their flexibility, stamina, mental health, and overall body strength. It comprises numerous poses, practices, and variations, which can be taken up by anyone with some precautions, regardless of their physical abilities, and medical history.
One such variation is called β€˜kunjal kriya’. This involves practicing self-induced vomiting, which provides a cleansing effect and purifies our digestive tract, lungs, liver, intestine, and food pipe.

Nasyam
Nasyam therapy is an Ayurvedic therapy that involves administering medications and herbal extracts through the nasal cavity to treat different complications affecting the region above the shoulder. It is an essential part of the five detoxification therapies in Ayurveda called the Panchakarma treatment. When carried out systematically, Nasya treatment can work wonders to control migraine headaches, sinusitis, congestions in breathing, infections, and various other problems.

Shankhprashalana
The word Shankhaprakshalana comes from two words. Shankha meaning "conch" and prakshalana meaning to wash completely. The word shankha is used to represent the entire alimentary canal from mouth to anus. This practice is also known as "varisar dhouti". This practice is also a part of kaya kalpa, which is an ayurvedic technique for physical purification and transformation, kaya means body & kalpa means transformation. Shankhaprakshalana is the process to clean the intestinal tract by removing the impurities with salty water.
